The room was clean and pleasant, though very basic. There’s no kettle in the room, but reception has a decent fresh-bean coffee machine, which is probably better. The air conditioning was a godsend, and the bed controls were a nice touch. If you’re doing something in Westminster, the location is really convenient. The tube is just across the street. My only issue was the glass toilet door: fine if you’re alone, but there’s no privacy when sharing and needing the loo.
We stayed on Dacre Street from 26th May for two nights, seven of us in all, including four family members visiting from America for their first time in London. We really enjoyed the stay. The rooms were comfortable, the staff were fantastic and the location was excellent. Lorenzo deserves a special mention. He went above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble. He’s a real asset and should be made a manager as soon as possible! There were a couple of small problems: the air conditioning in room 316 wasn’t working on one of the hottest days in May, and a bath towel in another room had mud stains. Those were disappointing, but small compared with the good experience overall. We’d definitely stay here again on our next London trip.
We slept really well and didn’t hear a single noise. The rooms are small but have enough space, and the hotel is modern, in a superb location, with very friendly and helpful staff. The main drawback when sharing is the ensuite: one wall is frosted glass, and there’s still a gap with the door shut, so there’s no privacy when using the toilet. Other small issues were that only shower gel was provided, there was nowhere to hang wet towels, and breakfast seating was very limited. I’d still choose this place again.
The friendly staff and lounge area are good, and the hotel is within easy walking distance of a train station, Parliament and Westminster. The controls for the lights and air conditioning are on the bed frame, which is handy, and there are plenty of plug sockets. There were plenty of problems in my room, though. The shower leaked badly and flooded the floor every time, with no way to close it off. The room was tiny, with barely any space to move, and had no window despite costing 300 pounds for two days. The translucent toilet door had a wide gap, so if someone else is in the room, they may need to leave while you shower. Toilet paper was only one ply and very abrasive, and the shower gel dried out my skin. You also have to scan your key card at least 4-5 times to reach the room. They don’t clean rooms daily unless you ask each time, and the AC resets and switches on whenever you enter. This was my second stay, and the staff have always been lovely. Breakfast was average, with few options and watered-down juice, and no hot food like at other hotels I use. There is free coffee and tea 24*7, plus a water jug for filling your bottle.
The room and bathroom are quite small, and the setup is minimalist, as you’d expect from the hotel’s market positioning. They’ve left out things like ironing boards that most people don’t use, and the bedroom features are new and tech-forward. In the lobby there’s a small self-service bar and a few comfortable corners for working or relaxing. The location in the heart of Westminster is top-notch. It’s easy to walk to a main street for a bus or tube, there are lots of places to eat nearby, and Covent Garden is a 20-minute bus ride away. The staff were very friendly and willing to help. It was my first stay in this type of hotel, and I’d give it four stars.
