Hyatt Place West London Hayes

I really liked having recycling bins in the room, something I haven't seen in another hotel. The room had a fridge, a big window with roller blinds, a good TV and wifi, plenty of charging points including a EU socket, and a large comfortable bed with a choice of pillows. It was quiet, and I slept very well. Breakfast had a very good selection, with self-service options or eggs cooked to order. There are places to eat nearby, or you can use the Zoom restaurant or room service. The staff were very good too. A great stay.

The location is good, with shops and transport easy to get to, and the staff were polite and helpful. Housekeeping did a good job, and I was even allowed a late checkout. There aren't kitchen facilities in the room beyond a fridge and tea station, so I had to go down to the front desk to heat food. The walls are thin, too, and noise carries from other rooms, including people talking or raising their blinds. Still, it wasn't a bad experience overall.

The spacious rooms, gym, and pleasant spot to relax or have a drink at the bar were the best parts for me. The Hyatt Place West London was a bit disappointing, though. There's free parking a walk from the hotel, but guests would benefit from free parking on-site, especially since a few characters show up at night. My room was roomy, but smelled of sewers and seemed to need more care in places. I didn't feel comfortable walking on parts of the carpet, which seemed unclean. The window was impressively large, though the view wasn't great. I was also woken at times by the sound of someone in the next room opening their blinds. The 'Let's Reschedule' sign on the door was repeatedly ignored. Staff kept knocking and maids still tried to enter while I was resting, which was very inconvenient. This hotel wasn't for me, though I can understand why many people would book it.

It's a shame, because this used to be a nice place to stay. Now the rooms feel dated, staff seem a bit stuck up, and the carpets were very dusty and full of hair. The accessible bathroom flooded all the way to the door, and the fridge didn't work. Although I'd booked parking, there were problems with staff over it until the manager got involved. They also asked for all my details, including my driver's licence and passport, which worried me since I'd booked through a company and have stayed here countless times over the past six years.
