Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars

The Portland stone gives this handsome neoclassical London building a distinctive look, and the location is great. My room and bed were really comfortable, with good AC, and housekeeping did a very good job. I slept well every night despite the jet lag. If I had one small wish, it’d be a better coffee setup in the room.

I mainly wanted a quiet, comfortable stay, and that’s exactly what I got. It was pin-drop quiet. The hotel is clean, new, and comfortable, though the decor does feel a bit soulless, which is what you might expect when booking a Hyatt Regency. Blackfriars station is right across the road, so there’s no need for a cab when coming from LGW.

Breakfast was good quality, though it gets quite busy at peak times. The staff were professional and efficient. It’s a modern, comfortable hotel in a good spot for exploring London, and the rooms are spacious and well equipped, with extremely comfortable beds.

I’m writing a couple of months late, but wanted to give Hyatt Regency Blackfriars my highest recommendation. Dinesh at the Front Desk deserves special credit and thanks for going above and beyond to extend my original two-night booking to a full week, no small task at such a busy City property. I even gave up a prepaid booking at another, non-Hyatt hotel to stay here. Mara and Maria also helped with my requests and kept the Front Desk team focused on a great guest experience. My modern, well-kept King room had all the amenities and the most heavenly bed. It’s across the road from Blackfriars tube station and within walking distance of the National Gallery. I’ve stayed across the river at Albert Embankment on my London visits, but since November 2025 I’m a full convert to Blackfriars. The Happy Hour drinks and hors d’oeuvres were a nice bonus.
