The price was very good, and communication before our visit was excellent. The hotel is in an excellent location. Our small room met our needs, and it was a nice touch to find a couple of apples and bottled water on the tea and coffee tray. The area was quiet overnight, though the walls were thin and the floorboards above squeaked. Facilities were clean and usable. The rainfall shower didn’t work, but the handheld sprayer was enough.
I’m giving five stars for the experience I had, rather than by typical hotel standards. Staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, and we got personalised email replies before check-in. They kindly let us have items posted to the hotel, cleaned the rooms daily and met every request. Our room was small but suited us perfectly. The shower had great pressure, and there was a fogless mirror and heated towel rail. The location is hard to beat, closer to King’s Cross and St Pancras than the seven-minute walk shown on maps. I’d estimate
For a one-night stay near King’s Cross and St Pancras, it was adequate, but the low price was reflected in the experience. The hotel has very little on-site service and no catering. There wasn’t any cutlery beyond a teaspoon in the room. Check-in and check-out were straightforward. My room was extremely small, and cleanliness was acceptable but not great. The bathroom was the best part, more modern than the rest of the room. The walls were thin, so I could hear noise from other rooms throughout the stay, though road noise was minimal. There was a slight smell, and the toilet paper was coarse. The bed was serviceable, but I felt a little itchy, which may have been psychological. Heating worked well and the TV was fine, but Wi-Fi was slow and unreliable. It’s very much a case of getting what you pay for.
A good-value budget hotel with excellent transport links. The room was small, but clean and functional, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. There are lots of restaurants, supermarkets and fast food outlets nearby, about a three-minute walk from St Pancreas Eurostar station.
King’s Cross station is only a two-minute walk away, which was ideal for getting around London. The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful on arrival, and the desk is open 24 hours, which felt reassuring when I was travelling alone. Our twin room was just right, with cute double doors we could open. It was clean, had tea and coffee, and the TV included Netflix. I stayed with my friend and then on my own, and felt comfortable and safe both nights. A handy, affordable place to stay while exploring the city.
