After three weeks here, I’m quite happy with the place. The studio is adequate for one person, though there are larger room types. Compared with the shared flat I moved from, I’d give this student accommodation five stars. It feels safe, and the staff are organised, kind, and friendly. Special thanks to Lauren, Jeremiah, Vinny. I love the working sky view and the shared private dining. The price is reasonable compared with nearby accommodation.

The gym could use more space and equipment, especially for heavy lifters who have very few options for serious strength training. Even so, I’ve found my stay pleasant and hassle-free, and would recommend iQ Aldgate to students. The building is well maintained, feels safe, and has clean common areas that work well for relaxing or studying. Facilities are good overall. Staff are consistently friendly, helpful, and responsive, maintenance is dealt with efficiently, and management communicates clearly and promptly. It’s well connected for getting to university and exploring London.

Getting around is easy from iQ Aldgate, with Aldgate East tube very close and Shoreditch walkable. The management team is friendly, and the social areas are great, especially the roof terrace for hanging out. I’ve had a great experience living here.

I pay around £2,000 a month and didn’t expect to be treated this way. For that price, I could rent a larger, cleaner, more private apartment, and the service here doesn’t match the cost. After I submitted a formal complaint, I got no proper response or follow-up, and felt there was no fairness. I’m sharing this so others can make a more informed choice about accommodation in London. On my first day at iQ Aldgate, a receptionist made rude, inappropriate remarks about my name and where I come from. I felt uncomfortable, though I tried to let it go. Then, a few days ago, around 9 a.m., I went to the shared laundry room to collect my clothes after the drying cycle had ended. Residents are entitled to use this facility, and I entered carefully. I stepped onto the floor the housekeeping staff member was mopping to get my laundry. Even after I politely apologised, he raised his voice and said, “Everyone always says sorry — you should respect me.” I genuinely hadn’t done anything wrong.

The rooms are spacious and competitively priced for the area, and it’s comfortable and easy to make friends in the building. I’ve lived here for two years, and the staff have been helpful and communicative. I love living here.
