Every time the students are allowed to party, they’re drunk, shouting, loud and leaving litter in the street. The overcrowded doorway makes it feel like living next to a pub. They even leave bins or parcels with their names and addresses on the street opposite the building entrance. It’s unbelievable that a place like Imperial College has so little control over these events.

This is student accommodation for Imperial college students. It’s well organised.

When I visited my son at Kemp Porter, I found a new, modern building with useful shared spaces: common and games rooms, quiet study areas, group work rooms and meditation rooms. The en suite double rooms are warm, cosy and fairly spacious, with some privacy for studying. Kitchens are modern and roomy, and the upper floors have great views. The building has 30 floors and fast lifts, plus small courtyards outside and a bike garage. There’s no gym in the building, though one is available nearby at another Imperial hall of residence. The laundry room is well equipped, but its electronic payment system is far from perfect and quite expensive. Shops including Tesco and Sainsbury's, bus stops and North Acton tube station are close by. Getting to the Imperial campus in central London takes about 40 minutes.

I was here on a placement helping young Polish teens learn English, and I’d stay again in the future. The rooms are lovely, and the air con works great. I liked the little extras too, like hair caps for showering without washing your hair and mats to step onto when you get out. The wall charging points include USB ports, handy if you don’t have a charger plug. Thank you.

This is a brilliant place for students, but the students need to show some discipline in the kitchens. They get messy, so there should be regular checks to keep them from turning into a cesspool of bacteria.
