Kent Hall Hotel

The hotel was good value for money, and I’d recommend it. The location suited my needs, the cleaning was excellent, the internet was very good, and breakfast was great. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The main problem was noise from other guests. The wood and board partitions didn’t stop voices carrying from other rooms. Also, joining two single beds to make a double was inconvenient.

I’ve stayed here twice and liked it. It’s cheaper than other London hotels, and the staff are really nice and friendly. The rooms are nice but feel old. Finsbury park is right across the road, though the busy traffic can make it a bit noisy in the rooms at the front. I’d recommend the place.

The hotel takes up a very small footprint, but the way the inside is arranged makes excellent use of the space. The layout is unusual, with two central stairwells for moving between floors and ducts carrying sewage and clean water. Rooms have direct contact with the building’s outer walls for natural light and temperature control.

You get what you pay for here, and at £55 per person per night in summer 2017, it’s a good budget option if you’re watching your spending. The facilities are basic. The carpets and decor could be cleaner, but the bed linen and towels are clean. Breakfast is a simple continental spread, with cooked eggs and baked beans as an option. Staff are friendly and the front desk is staffed around the clock. The name and layout make it seem like it may once have been a student hall of residence.
