The room was basically like a hostel, very small, and the twin bed was so narrow I worried I might fall off. Getting around was awkward too, with stairs up to the lobby and more to reach the elevator. I chose the hotel for its location across the street from both Kings Cross and St Pancreas stations, but the stay was bad. The man behind the counter was nasty every time I came or went. When I was leaving, he chased me into the street and shouted, “you don’t answer?” I’m a 65 yo woman travelling alone, and his behaviour made me worry about my safety.

The reception gentleman was lovely, and the shower had great pressure. It’s a good, affordable base for exploring London, though I wouldn’t choose it for a weekend away with my wife. I was happy with my stay.

King's Cross station is nearby, which made getting around London easy. The staff were helpful and really nice. The rooms are basic, but I still had a very nice stay.

We won’t be coming back. Our stay at this hotel was very poor, and the room standard was disappointing. It was old and falling apart in places, with a bad drain smell right outside the door. Cleaning utensils were kept outside our basement window, and there were large blue laundry bags to climb over with our cases to reach the room, which was next to what looked like a laundry room. The room was far too small for four people. The shower was tiny and kept dripping, the bath towels were very small, there were no hand towels, and each person had only one pillow. We have photo evidence if needed.

Booking was quick and easy, but that was the only good part. We were put in Room 2 downstairs, and opening the door was a shock: one double bed and one single left almost no room for our two bags. The walls and ceilings were damp, and the single bed had white flakes all over it. The shower ceiling looked terrible and unhealthy. By morning, our bags had white specks on them, possibly paint from the walls.
