Leman House

Mariana was a pleasure, and the breakfast was really, really good. I liked the local feel, which I sometimes prefer to a corporate hotel. It’s a great deal for the price, though keep in mind this is a B&B in a house. We arrived a bit late, around 9pm, and were conscious of keeping our voices down so we wouldn’t wake anyone, something I wouldn’t think about at a regular hotel. I’d return.

Having access to a kitchen was surprisingly useful, and the location is great. The room was okay, and for the price I’d give it five out of five. The door locks felt a little flimsy, which was the one downside. It was somewhat noisy, but I still had no trouble falling asleep or staying asleep.

The towels had faded blood stains, there was BLACK MOLD IN THE SHOWER, the carpet was dirty and smelly, and there were brown deposits in the toilets. Hygiene was absolutely nonexistent. It was also very noisy, to the point that you could hear people in other rooms breathing. The strong cooking oil fumes from the restaurant below meant you couldn’t open the windows. This is the worst “hotel” I’ve ever stayed in. Photos attached. Do not go there under any circumstances.

Shops and cafés are nearby, and there’s no time limit on coming back to the room. We paid £70 for a double room for one night in London, about a 10-minute walk from the Thames River. It had a shower, TV, free Wi-Fi and a/c, which was a lifesaver in the warm weather. You can also use the kitchen, with tea and coffee and a microwave. The staff were friendly and the price was reasonable, but the room was small. The bedding and towels were clean, though the carpet hadn’t been hoovered.
