London Bridge Boutique Apartments by Viridian Apartments

The room smelled like poop, and the toilet door wouldn't shut. It's cheap, sure, but I don't think it's worth the money.

The apartment was quiet despite being in a busy spot, and the one bedroom place was a decent size. Its location was handy too, right by London Bridge Station, with plenty of food nearby and Tesco and M&S Simply Foods just across the street. It could have been cleaner: there was a lot of hair on the floor when we arrived. We stayed three nights and didn't get enough toiletries, toilet paper, or shampoo and body wash, so don't count on supplies being topped up. They also charge if you ask for extra towels, which I found ridiculous. There's nowhere to leave bags if you arrive before check-in, and service needs work. A WhatsApp contact would make communication easier.

Flying Butler offered a small amount of compensation for the problems and said everything had been resolved. We had reported them, and someone from maintenance came to the flat on day two. The tea towels were delivered and the toaster was replaced, but the dryer only worked for one cycle before failing again. The other problems included no kitchen sink plug, a broken toaster at first, dishwasher tablets but no dishwasher, and bedroom blinds that didn't work properly. We chose Flying Butler - 50 Vincent Square London for the location, which was very good, and because it had a washer-dryer. After two weeks travelling around Europe, we needed to wash our clothes. The shower was awkward to use with its three controls, and noise from other residents going up and down the stairs was bothersome too. For what we paid, these things shouldn't have been wrong. The stay was disappointing, to say the least. I wouldn't recommend Flying Butler.

The location was good and the flat itself was nice, but the service was absolutely horrendous. I booked flat 3 for myself and two children, yet we were only given bedding and towels for two. There were no sheets for the sofa bed. After a long flight, all three of us had to sleep in one double bed the first night. I called and emailed repeatedly, and was assured the missing linen would arrive by 6pm on day two. It still hadn't arrived by then. I later got an email saying they hadn't heard back from me, despite all my calls and emails. They offered no refund or credit.
