London Court Hotel

The staff and manager were so helpful, even carrying our bags up to the third floor because there’s no lift. We found the rooms clean and fresh, just as they looked in the pictures, although a little small. It’s very close to the metro and good value for money. The main street is a bit rough around the edges, but across the road there are quiet, charming streets that are lovely to explore.

While I waited for my room, they brought me coffee and treated me with real care and respect. The staff were extremely helpful, and the Algerian gentleman kindly carried my luggage. Hussein also deserves a special thanks for his kindness, cheerful attitude, and warm welcome. The place itself was clean, comfortable, and well organized. I had a great stay.

Each room has a mini-fridge, which was a nice bonus. There are towels, soap, and shampoo, and the TV had good reception with plenty of channels. The bed was comfortable, and the noise from the busy street nearby was kept to a manageable level. Earl's Court Station is just a short walk away, with restaurants, pubs, shops, and other businesses close by. A hidden gem!

I stayed at London Court Hotel and had one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. The rooms are extremely small, but my main concerns were the electrical safety issue and the way some staff dealt with it. There’s a built-in USB fast-charging port in the room. It burnt one of my power banks on one day and a second one on another day. At first, staff said their equipment was fine, so I thought the first power bank might have been faulty. After the second one burnt too, I believed the hotel port was the cause. The daytime manager gave me conflicting explanations. First he said everything was checked regularly, then he said the USB port “is not for charging”. Guests hadn’t been told that, and the design of the outlet made that explanation confusing. The night manager was polite, but I found the daytime staff confrontational and unprofessional, and they didn’t give me a logical explanation. The manager later became aggressive, tried to enter my room while my belongings were inside, and filmed me without my consent. I felt unsafe and called the police. When the police tried to speak with staff, they didn’t cooperate properly. I got no refund or accountability, and felt there was no concern for guest safety. The electrical port damaged my property, and the management’s behaviour made everything worse. I booked six nights and stayed five, having already paid £817. I’ve attached the receipt. I called the police twice; the manager refused to cooperate or even give his name to them. I’ve attached the police complaint numbers and messages saying this was a civil matter. There’s no lift for the three floors, and guests have to carry heavy luggage up very steep stairs. The entrance is narrow and difficult to see, and isn’t shown in the published information. I’ve lodged an official complaint with booking.com and am pursuing legal action with my lawyers. I’m an Australian finance executive and have travelled to more than 25 countries. I can also see that the manager has asked for accommodation to be refused to me and has disclosed some of the personal information I submitted to the hotel. I strongly recommend avoiding this place.
