The location is fantastic, and it was the cheapest option in the area. The woman who welcomed us was friendly and helpful. I found the traffic noise manageable given where the hotel is, though the window that wouldn't shut properly made it louder and might bother a lighter sleeper. They were fitting new hallway carpets while we checked in, so I hope the owners have more refurbishments planned. Our bed was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom and towels were clean too, and the shower had good temperature and water pressure. The room itself was tidy enough, but there was rubbish from a previous guest left in a drawer. The room was small and basic, with very tired decor. The window and bathroom door both failed to close fully. Several fittings were broken or close to it: the headboard fell off the wall more than once, the bathroom shelf tipped forward, and the loose tap was hard to turn. The hot and cold taps were mislabeled as well. The bathroom may have had some recent work, judging by the new grout, but excess grout hadn't been cleaned off the tiles very well. The price and location made it worthwhile despite those problems.
