Hyde Park is right nearby, Harrods and several other shops are only steps away, and getting around from this central spot was easy. The Knightsbridge hotel is now my favourite London boutique stay. The owners have done a phenomenal job with the decor. The interior feels unique, and every detail seems carefully considered. Service was exceptional all the way through, and the place had that comfortable, home-away-from-home feel. Room service and the food and drinks were superb too. I can't recommend it enough.

After a long day, it was such a treat to settle into a comfortable, luxurious room. Mine felt cosy and homely, with everything I needed, and the soup I ordered through room service for supper was delicious. The team gave me a lovely welcome when I arrived and showed me to my room. The standard rooms are on the small side, but they're cosy and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent, so it's worth including it in your booking, and the staff are really professional. It's easy to walk to the V&A, Natural History museums and Harrod's. The hotel also sits between two metro lines, which makes getting around handy.

We both came away with a new favourite hotel. It's expensive, but for us the one-of-a-kind five-star experience was worth it. The interior decor is stunning and adds a lot to the charm. We appreciated the evening turndown touches after afternoon tea: the blinds were drawn, fresh water and clean glasses had been left out, and there was pillow spray. The hotel was spotless and well maintained, including our room. The reception area smelled gorgeous too, I wish I could bottle that scent and take it home. Service was the thing that really stood out. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. The valet gentleman offered to move our car from the secure car park onto the street on Sunday, when on-street parking is free, so we could avoid paying for another day. On our especially warm departure day, he also swapped the complimentary water bottles in the car for chilled ones. Such a thoughtful little gesture. Afternoon tea was lovely as well. The Filipino server was kind and a real credit to the team, though sadly we didn't catch her name. The scones, sandwiches and cakes were delicious. I did think the price was a bit high compared with other places that refill sandwiches and tea for a similar or lower cost. We liked having the honesty bar, although personally we'd have preferred a traditional bar to relax in during the evenings. My mum had stayed at the sister hotel, The Haymarket, several years ago and always spoke highly of it, so I booked this as a birthday surprise with high expectations. Our stay surpassed them. It's tucked along a quiet, lovely side street just off Brompton Road, and the location is excellent. Harrods is about a five-minute walk away, with plenty of cafés and bars nearby. We could also walk to the Victoria Apollo and Victoria Palace Theatres, Buckingham Palace, the V&A Museum, the Natural History Museum and Knightsbridge tube station. Check-in was quick and seamless, and reception welcomed us warmly. A helpful staff member showed us to our beautifully decorated room. It wasn't the largest I've stayed in, but it felt inviting and cosy, with plenty of space. For Mum's birthday, the hotel had arranged a fruit plate with a 'Happy Birthday' message and a small box of artisan chocolates. The chocolates were absolutely delicious. The bathroom impressed us too. The shower was thoughtfully designed, with its temperature controls on the opposite wall from the shower head, and the robes felt very luxurious.
