At about 8:45 pm today, I went to Victoria station to pick up my friend, who had come from Scotland. There was no lift, and we had three suitcases. I told my friend to wait upstairs while I carried two bags up one at a time, and she could bring the last one. No one was there to watch our luggage downstairs. I saw five groups of security staff talking in Hindi and asked one person to keep an eye on a bag for a second while I fetched another. He refused and said we had to carry our own things and they couldn’t watch them even for a second. I felt let down and dismissed. They looked at me and laughed while I was asking for help. Why were the security staff just talking to each other? It was insane. The other officers were good, though.

It’s a busy station, with plenty to keep you occupied beyond the trains and information boards. There are shops, stalls, places to eat, and lots of attractions. It’s in a quiet spot, and you can easily get to many different transport options.

May 2026. I hadn’t been through Victoria station for at least ten years. It’s really nice, with clear signs, so getting around should be easy. There are plenty of shops, free Wi-Fi, and places to sit.

During our seven days of exploring London, this was the station we used to start and end each day on the Underground. It’s a brilliant hub. The London Tube is amazing, and it makes Toronto’s commuting system seem kind of sad. Then again, the Tube dates back to 1863, so it’s older than Canada.

A clean station with free toilets and good facilities. There are lots of food and drink options, from quick bites to sit-down meals and takeaways. Some maintenance work in one section or another can be a nuisance at times. Bus connections to and from the station are good, and there’s plenty nearby, including pubs, restaurants, theatres, and shops.
