Maitrise Hotel Maida Vale

My stay at Maitrise Hotel Maida Vale was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. The room was shockingly cramped for two people. There was barely room to move or open our luggage, and the bed was so small that sleeping was difficult. Staff tried to excuse it by saying all London hotel rooms are like this, which simply isn't true. The problems with cleanliness and maintenance were just as bad. We saw bugs in the room, the tiny shower wasn't properly cleaned, and the poorly designed wash basin splashed water everywhere. The toilet flush was difficult to press and badly designed. There was no tissue box, no complimentary water, and no extra towels. Service was unacceptable from the moment we arrived. The front desk staff were rude and dismissive, with little basic courtesy or professionalism. When I complained about the poor WiFi, the receptionist sarcastically said her mobile internet was working fine, then laughed. That was completely disrespectful to paying guests. The place felt cheap and poorly managed, and the stay was extremely uncomfortable. For the price, it was terrible value. I'd strongly advise choosing another London hotel.

The location worked really well, with the station only a 3-5 minute walk away, Tesco Express and plenty of other shops across the road, plus Anytime Fitness nearby. Inside, our room felt roomy and cozy, and the heating was just right for winter. The staff were lovely, especially Carol (the manager), who let us store our bags before check-in and after check-out. The all-day breakfast was handy too, since we didn't have to get up early. Great budget-friendly hotel.

Getting around London was easy from Maitrise Hotel Maida Vale, with a bus stop outside and the metro a few minutes away on foot. Tesco Express and other shops are right across the street, and guests can also get discounted access to the gym and restaurant. Our room was clean, comfortable, well kept, and an OK size for a couple. I did miss having a fridge for water and other small items. Staff were helpful and friendly, and both check-in and check-out were quick and simple. We enjoyed our stay and our time in London, and I'd recommend it and come back.

Carol was so kind throughout our stay, and her service was outstanding. She took the time to point out the best routes to the attractions we wanted to see, always with a lovely attitude. Our room was spotless and comfortable, just the right size, and the bed was especially cozy. The hotel is in a great spot, and we'd happily stay again. ❤️
