The hotel exterior is charming and suits Kensington's historic character. Our room cost about £98 a night. It's not right in Central London, but public transport makes it convenient for sightseeing. The neighborhood has lots of lovely historic buildings, and Earl's Court Underground Station is a short walk away. As is common with London hotels, the rooms are compact and the beds fairly small, though we still slept comfortably. The room worked well at night.

Being just a few minutes from Earls Court Station, with restaurants and grocery stores nearby, made getting around easy. We also found the receptionist very nice, and the hotel was good value. Our room was bright, airy, spacious and clean, with the basics we needed. The shower pressure was great, and we could sleep with the windows open without too much street noise. There were a few little drawbacks. The mattresses were quite hard, just springs with no pillow top, and the bathroom door didn't close or lock properly. The shower had separate hot and cold knobs that took some fiddling to get the temperature right. The lobby smelled a bit of smoke, though it didn't reach our room, and there's no lift, which could matter if you have mobility issues. None of that affected us too much, and we really enjoyed our stay at the Manor Hotel.

The shared bathroom on my floor didn't have a shower, so I ended up washing my hair in the sink. They did leave a towel, soap and shampoo in the room. It wasn't ideal, but the stay was cheap and comfortable otherwise. The decor is dated, but the room was clean and comfortable, the service was friendly, and I got a decent night's sleep without much hassle. Earl's Court tube station is nearby and the hotel is fairly central. I came back around 10:30pm a little drunk after an event and had no trouble getting in with my key card. Fine for a low-cost, no-frills stay in the area.

I paid just £40 for a private room with a shared bathroom, less than the roughly £50 I've paid before for a 12 bed dorm in a London hostel. The receptionist upgraded me to a triple room with its own bathroom at no extra cost. It was a lovely, quiet room, and that upgrade completely made my day. Would recommend!

The location is fantastic and the staff are friendly, but the bathroom was filthy. My friend and I stayed for a couple of nights and wouldn't use the shower at all. We washed with flannels and soap instead. There was a heavy build-up of black and pink mould, especially in the shower, which looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned for a very long time, if at all. It seemed like showering there would leave us dirtier than before. We slept with the window open and the bathroom extractor fan on, though it was caked in dust and I doubt it was working. Even so, we woke up groggy and congested each morning. The beds and other facilities seemed about what you'd expect for the lower price, but the bathroom's condition made me question the cleanliness of the whole place. Definitely avoid unless you're somehow a fan of mould poisoning, or a history nerd keen to recreate Chernobyl today.
