We paid 137 per night for a week’s stay, booked through Expedia, but there was just one towel and one bed made up. No linens were provided for the sofa bed, even though we were a party of four. The place was dirty and disgusting, hadn’t been cleaned, and smelled of stale cigarettes. It was in a rough neighborhood, and there was no staff on site. I think they may not even have been in England; they only spoke to us by WhatsApp. We told them we couldn’t stay, found a clean hotel in a safe neighborhood, and contacted Expedia within hours of checking in. They refused a refund and acted as if we’d stayed anyway. BUYER BEWARE.

Worst stay of my life. The room was full of bed bugs and I left with multiple bites. When I reported it, staff refused to help and offered no solution or refund. The hygiene was unacceptable and the customer service even worse. I strongly recommend avoiding this place. It completely ruined my trip.

The bedbugs made our stay awful, and we suffered badly from the bites. The hotel acknowledged the problem, but replies to our messages came very late. At first they said they would give us a full refund, then changed their minds and paid nothing. On top of that, the room was extremely dirty, the washing machine was too filthy to use, and the bathroom drain was broken from the first day, so we couldn't shower. I would never recommend this place.

I found bedbugs in the bed and by the curtains, and they bit my legs. Having worked in a hostel, I knew what they were. That was the breaking point after a string of filthy and unsafe conditions. Under the bed were a dead mouse, a dirty fork, and layers of dust; a greasy, sticky key had been left under the sofa. The bin was moldy inside once I removed the bag. I also found a dead mosquito on the shower wall, a badly stained sofa, greasy residue in a drawer, and a fridge coated in dust and grime. A glass was broken when I went to get water, and I nearly used it. The front door felt far too flimsy: I could see corridor light through it, and there was no way to lock it from inside. The window wouldn't shut properly, so cold and noise came in. I spent an hour shivering and looking for the thermostat the owner said was on the wall. It turned out to be behind a shelf, on the heater. I'd been awake since 3 am the day before for my flight, but couldn't sleep for more than 24 hours because I felt so unsafe and distressed. I stood by the door through the night until sunrise, then fled to find emergency accommodation and decontaminate my belongings. Given the other reviews, management must know about these problems, yet they keep using misleading photos that put guests at risk. This is a public health hazard and should be avoided, if not closed permanently.
