The therapist was excellent, professional and pleasant, but the room made the massage hard to enjoy. It was exceptionally small, like a repurposed side room rather than a proper treatment space. Since it was right next to the women's changing area, conversations, hand dryers and general noise could be heard throughout. I noticed other guests being collected personally for their appointments, while I was left waiting in the lounge despite being there before my treatment time. I booked a £99 package for two hours of spa access and a 60-minute massage. Before visiting, I contacted the spa specifically to check that I could use the facilities before my treatment, and was told that could be arranged. But on arrival I waited around 20 minutes, cutting into that pre-treatment time. The biggest problem was the atmosphere. For a luxury 5-star property, the spa felt small, overcrowded and noisy. The changing rooms were cramped, finding a free locker was difficult, and there were no loungers or places to relax. The jacuzzi was constantly loud because of the pool machinery, and guests talked across the facilities at full volume. It felt far from the peaceful luxury spa I expected. I chose it for its luxury positioning and reputation, but the experience felt smaller, louder, busier and much less premium than advertised. It's a shame, since the therapist herself was excellent. I left more stressed than relaxed, the opposite of what I wanted from a spa visit.

My partner was on crutches, and everyone did all they could to make sure we were comfortable. The customer service from everyone we met was exceptional, and the guy at the front door was especially friendly and helpful. When we got to the room, we found that Myroslava had decorated it beautifully as a surprise for my partner's birthday. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived at the Montcalm Royal London House. We'll definitely come back.

Staff were super friendly throughout our two-night stay at the Montcalm. We arrived early after booking three rooms, and they kindly let us into one of them ahead of time. The rooms were a good size and really nice. We also enjoyed a drink at the rooftop bar, with amazing views on a beautiful evening. The location worked well, close to Liverpool Street and restaurants.

The spa was lovely and relaxing, but the gym was very minimal. Breakfast was okay over the two mornings, and the second day was much better than the first. We ate dinner outside the hotel. I went to the Montcalm Royal for a birthday treat. Staff were attentive and welcoming when we arrived, and the entrance looked very fancy. That impression changed when we saw the room. There were stains on the curtains, carpet and walls. It was pretty disgusting, especially for what my fiancé paid. The hotel needs a major makeover or a deep clean. I told management I was disappointed, and they said they'd refund my fiancé 20%.

We're already booked to come back this Saturday for Barbara’s birthday, after such a delightful stay last Friday. Mark at concierge gave outstanding service, and Divine at reception welcomed us warmly and took great care of us. Everyone made us feel like valued guests, and no request was too much trouble. The Montcalm Royal London House, City has modern elegance with high-tech comfort, and our room had great city views. The bar and restaurant were fabulous, with delicious food. The spa and swimming pool were a real place to unwind. Thanks to all the staff for making the stay so memorable. Best wishes, Chris and Barbara 🤗
