The team were warm, attentive and genuinely helpful. After I'd checked out, a parcel arrived for me, and the front office went out of their way to forward it to my friend. That unexpected help won me over. My apartment was spacious, spotless, beautifully furnished and thoughtfully equipped. The location was ideal too, with cool boutiques and great restaurants an easy walk away. One thing for future guests: unit sizes vary. I had a large apartment, while my friend booked a studio, so check the type you're reserving to make sure it suits your expectations. It felt like coming home. I've found my house in London, and it's the best apartment I've stayed in here.

We got the largest one-bedroom apartment listed at a great price by booking at the last minute. There was loads of room for four adults, plus tons of storage if we'd needed it. It was clean, comfortable and stylish, with a huge bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen with the basics. There's a supermarket across the road. The only downside was the ten-minute walk to the Tube, which felt long after a full day of sightseeing, though the route was very straightforward even when we were tired.

I've stayed at Nell Gwynn house apartments about eight times since 2013. My advice is to book through NGH apartment management. Several rental agencies operate on the first floor, and Nell Gwynn Chelsea Accomodations are awful. They're the ones people complain about, with the woman Michelle. I used them once for apartment 746. They were extremely rude, ignored my emailed questions and requests for a floor plan, and gave me short, incomplete answers. There's no landline in their apartments, so contacting the rental office is difficult. The apartments are hit or miss, and the layouts vary a lot. Some bathrooms are ridiculously tiny; others are decent. There's no air conditioning, so stay in summer at your own peril. The NGH apartments staff, on the other hand, are stellar and fantastic. It's unfortunate they still don't have the book-it-yourself computer system they promise on their site every year. You have been warned.

The hotel and rooms had a nice vintage look, and the staff were friendly, though they did only the bare minimum. Some of our things disappeared from the room. The microwave and oven didn't work, and you could hear the metro from the ninth floor.

I stayed for eight nights. The rooms were very clean, the staff lovely, and the location great. It's a short walk from two Tube stations, and central London is within walking distance too. I'd recommend it.
