Newham Hotel

Newham placed me here after hours following surgery. As soon as I entered the room, the smell was so bad and the bathroom so unacceptable that I vomited and had to leave right away. The bed looked as though people had been lying on it, and there were mouse droppings in the corner. I was scared my stitches might get infected. Never again. This hotel needs an inspection as soon as possible.

Please don’t stay at this hotel. The room smelled awful and was unhygienic. No one was at reception when we arrived, so we waited 15 minutes before someone came. I’m asking Newham council to investigate and fine them for the poor maintenance. I don’t know how this place is still operating. With this level of management and safety issues, it should be closed as soon as possible.

I stayed here on three separate nights. The reception and service were okay, but the facilities need work. I wasn’t at all satisfied with the toilet facilities. For me, the toilet is an important part of hospitality.

The tap water had a horrible smell, so I wouldn’t drink it. We also had no warm water for a shower. When we told reception, the person said he’d boil some, but after waiting an hour there was still none, and we ended up showering in freezing cold water. A dreadful experience in late December. Then the hairdryer caught fire while I was using it. I went downstairs and told reception. He just said he’d get us another one, with no apology or reassurance. He said, “What can I do about it? It’s like the TV, if it got burnt there’s nothing I could do,” then walked off. He didn’t check the room and left us to sleep in an unsafe room. Who knows what could happen while you’re asleep? The worst hotel!
