OYO 116 Flexistay Addiscombe Aparthotel

Spend just a bit more and stay somewhere else. The hotel's interior looks a lot worse in person than in the pictures. There was hair and dried toothpaste left by a previous guest in my bathroom, and the shared areas were terribly dirty. I think it's a hostel for people placed there by the local council. I wouldn't stay here again.

It unfortunately didn't feel like a B&B. My door squeaked, and the mattress in room 1 was awful, far too soft. Room 8 had a door that wouldn't close, while room 12 was like a sauna and its window wouldn't open. After I practically begged, the host fixed it. The host in charge was very rude and didn't communicate politely.

The kitchen made a big difference to the cost of our stay. Breakfast food was available for us to use around the clock, and the shared fridge and freezer gave us space for our own food, so we saved a lot by not eating out every night. We didn't use the washing and drying facilities, but they were there. Our room was warm, clean and comfortable, with plenty of sockets. Tea, coffee, juice and biscuits were complimentary. The shower was powerful and very clean, and the TV had Freeview with excellent Wi-Fi too. Check-in was friendly and helpful. We were in Croydon for the same Crystal Palace family event, having stayed at three hotels over consecutive years, and this was by far the best. It suited us down to the ground.

Downstairs there's a kitchen and lounge with a help-yourself breakfast available all day: juice, cereal, bacon, sausage and eggs. It's a new style of accommodation and very popular. The loft-style studio was top class, with plenty of space and towels.
