OYO TamTam Acton Hotel

I booked through booking.com a week ahead, travelling from another city, and arrived around 3 pm for check-in. There was nobody there, no instructions, and no way to get inside. Customer service kept telling me they would contact the hotel manager and update me, but nothing came. I had an appointment, so I left my bag in the car and came back at about 11 pm, expecting someone to be there. They told me the room had been double-booked and I couldn't stay. I spent hours going between this company and booking.com, until around 1 am, then had to book the holiday inn so I'd have somewhere to sleep. It was a nightmare and extremely stressful. This happened more than two weeks ago, and I still haven't had my refund, even though booking.com advised them to return my money. I've emailed a few times and nothing has happened. I'm planning to make a small claims court claim for the refund and the stress I went through. Avoid booking with this company. They seem corrupt and dodgy.

The rooms were clean and the location worked well for me, but the self check-in setup and poor communication caused a real hassle. I had to wait for another guest to let me into the building, since there's no desk or help on site, and the contact number they gave me was always unavailable. Check the website carefully before you arrive. Whoever runs these guest rooms needs to get things sorted.

I spent half an hour sitting outside, unable to get into the hotel. There was no staff around to help, and although check-in was meant to be self-service, the promised instructions never arrived by email. I tried calling many times but the hotel didn't answer. This was the worst hotel experience I've had, if you can even call it an experience. I'd tell anyone considering this chain to book somewhere else. I won't use them again, and if I could give zero stars, I would.

My first visit here was fine, but yesterday was a disaster. I paid for a private bathroom because I didn't want a shared one, yet the toilet was so filthy I couldn't bear to look at it. It hadn't been cleaned or even wiped, so I had to do it myself. I was really angry, especially after paying for a private bathroom and ending up with what felt like a shared one.
