Pembridge Palace Hotel

We had a lovely stay and would happily come back. The housekeeping team were just as kind as the reception staff, and the hotel was impressively clean. Everyone made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Everything exceeded our expectations, and our experience was the opposite of the negative Google reviews we’d read.

I wouldn’t stay here again. I found the hotel poor value for money: the rates felt too high for what was provided, and the service didn’t justify them. Some staff came across as rude, dismissive and unprofessional. My concerns weren’t taken seriously, and I often felt unwelcome. I also had trouble reconciling my experience with the overwhelmingly positive reviews online, and wondered how well they reflect a typical stay. The hotel lacked professionalism and the hospitality guests should be able to expect. Research carefully before booking. Don’t fall for the scam on booking.com, where it shows good ratings!

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is in a good spot, in a neighbourhood that felt safe and beautiful. The rooms were cleaned daily, and they left complimentary water and snacks. The service also helped us feel comfortable.

The shower was a serious problem. It wouldn’t blend the water properly, switching from full cold to full hot every few seconds, and the hot bursts burned my body. The room smelled so bad that my nose got blocked; the carpets and curtains need replacing, or possibly a more thorough overhaul. Even though I understood it was a single room with an external bathroom, I didn’t know it would be on the third floor with the room on the first. The entrances to both the room and bathroom were so small, I wondered how a person was supposed to get through. I feel they’re scamming people and should be banned. I’m asking for a full refund for the harm to my health.
