Premier Inn London Romford (mercury Gardens)

The receptionist was polite, and the ground-floor room was clean and in good condition. Getting to the hotel means going through the Beefeater pub and restaurant, or around the back from the car park. The problems started later. I arrived at about 8:20 pm and was told the restaurant couldn't take a food order after 8, because they were busy, even though the website says 9. I had to go elsewhere for food. There was a lot of banging, hammering and furniture being moved in the early hours. In the morning, I was told breakfast ran from 8 to 11. I asked for 8, but was offered 10:30, and after disagreeing managed to get 9:30. A family of six who weren't staying at the hotel and hadn't booked were seated straight away. I waited five minutes for a table, then was told to help myself to coffee. After twenty minutes and two coffees, I left while that family was being served. I've asked my company not to use this place again.

Had a lovely time staying there. Asif, sheetal, Vicky and nathan were great, took pride in their work and were good to interact with. Emily Baily and the chef of the day were just as good. A pleasure.

My flat flooded, so I had to stay here. It turned out to be the best Premier Inn I've stayed in by far. Sarah on reception was so attentive and helpful. They should be proud to have her at the front desk.

The rooms were comfortable, but the service was absolutely rubbish. One of our paid, pre-booked rooms had been given to someone else, so we had to wait while they found a replacement. A server was very rude, and we waited an hour and a half between our starter and main. Breakfast was stone cold, with items missing when it arrived.
