The staff were amazing and the location is fantastic, but I found two cockroaches in under 14 hours. One crawled onto my bed. When I told the staff, they moved me to another room, then in the morning I found a second one in the shower and washed it down the drain. I could understand one turning up, since the hotel is massive and things happen, but these rooms were on completely different floors. Finding another one is not okay. I don't know whether the staff will fumigate the rooms or let someone else sleep there, but they need to sort it out. It's disgusting. Before leaving, I checked my luggage three times in case one had crawled into it, and I shouldn't have to worry about that. I can't believe I paid £140 to sleep somewhere like this. There's no elevator, and I had to climb six flights of stairs to my room. I have fibromyalgia, so that was especially difficult and meant I couldn't go out as much as I wanted. The video I added shows 45 seconds of me walking downstairs, but Google Reviews only allows 30. The staff did help carry my luggage up, thankfully, because I couldn't have managed it otherwise. Keep that in mind. The entrance was hard to spot. I wish I'd taken a photo to help others find it: it's on a side road, with a white door that's easy to miss. There's an electronic keypad, and the owner gave me the code ahead of time. The staff were great and the location is excellent, but watch out for cockroaches. It absolutely wasn't worth £70 a night.
My booking was for a week through a booking app, with the stay due to start in two weeks. Two days later, a family member passed away. I explained that my grandma had died and asked for a refund because I needed the money to go to her funeral. I never got a reply. I asked the booking agency to help and provided proof, but they got no response either. I tried calling myself and got no answer, then messaged and heard nothing there either. With that much notice, there should have been time for another guest to take my place. This business feels like a money trap and seems not to care about its upkeep or its clients. What was meant to be a nice birthday week turned into a horrible nightmare.
I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this stay was far below what I expected from one of the Private "Boutique" Apartments in London. We had problems with the heating and Wi-Fi, and neither was properly fixed. The host was slow to respond, and their replies came across as dismissive. The apartment was dusty, the upholstery was stained, and it smelled musty when we arrived. The listing photos looked outdated or heavily edited, while the apartment itself seemed tired and in need of maintenance. For the price, there are much better options in London. It felt like a budget rental dressed up as a boutique experience. I wouldn't recommend it or return.
The rooms were sold to us as suitable for two people, but each had one small, crooked bed that barely fit two. We were a group and booked three rooms, and the condition of all three was unacceptable. Everything seemed cheaply put together. It looked as if several rooms had been made from one larger apartment so the owner could rent them out for extra money. The rooms were unclean, with rubbish left around, especially under the beds. They're above a Thai restaurant, which would be fine except that the kitchen smell came into the rooms in the evening, making it unpleasant when trying to sleep. The Google photos are heavily edited, and calling the place boutique feels like marketing to lure people in. You're better off continuing your search; I'm sure there are much better options.
The location and service from the team were good, but noise was the main problem for me. The walls are paper thin, and the families next door were talking and moving around until almost 1 am, so it wasn't great for a full night's sleep. The place was clean, though very basic, which I suppose is what you'd expect for the price.
