The location is ideal, right next to hyde park, with shops and restaurants nearby. Our room, number 104 by the lift, was modern, clean, and had everything we needed. We didn’t hear the lift, just a couple of doors closing, as you might at any hotel. After reading the reviews I hadn’t expected much, but we were genuinely impressed. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and I really can’t fault the hotel.
The rooms are where this hotel falls short. The furniture and decor are dated and damaged, and the room was really, really small, with the space poorly used. It looked clean at first, but closer up it needed a thorough vacuum and dusting. Still, it was fine for sleeping after a busy day, and the bus and tube are just around the corner. I have no major complaints, and would recommend it for a short stay if you’ll be out all day, but not for a relaxing hotel break. I’d read all the comments before coming and expected very little, but the staff were lovely and welcoming, from the front desk to the cleaners. The exterior and bright reception were clean and inviting. Breakfast was nice, though the coffee may just not have suited my taste. The dining area was bright and clean, if a little cramped, and the staff there were lovely too.
I was worried after booking through booking.com and then reading the Google reviews, but this place turned out to be lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and worked hard to look after guests. My room was quite spacious for this part of London, with a double bed, a decent bathroom, and a place to work. For the price, I really can’t fault it. The walls are a little thin, though I only noticed while waiting for the lift. It’s very close to Baywater, Paddington and Queensway station. I’ll definitely be back. Thanks!
A simple hotel in a brilliant spot for food, the tube, and the park. The price is very reasonable for the standard, and the service was incredibly accommodating when we arrived and in the messages beforehand. It was a very good budget option for a summer stay, and I’d book again without a second thought. If they offered pet-friendly rooms, it would be 10/10. There’s a park nearby and plenty of places to eat and drink with pets, so we’d come back regularly through the summer. Thanks, and I hope a pet-friendly option becomes available.
The staff were friendly, the beds comfortable, and breakfast was yummy. Having checkout at 12 was a nice bonus, since many hotels make you leave earlier. For the price and location, our trip was enjoyable and the hotel deserves better than the reviews I’d seen. There were a few room issues. The top hinge on our broken window was damaged, so we were afraid to open it in case it got worse. We reported it, and staff said they’d sort it, then said it would be escalated and someone would come the next day, but nothing was done. It wasn’t a huge problem, though it was annoying. The room was quite hot, but we appreciated having a fan. The bathroom had a pretty unpleasant eggy smell, maybe from the drain or plumbing.
