Queensway Hotel Sure Hotel Collection By Best Western

The 24-hour reception was a big plus. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, and the location is amazing, with everything you need close by. I visited Queensway Sure Hotel on Valentine’s Day and had a lovely stay. The lighting outside made a beautiful first impression, and inside felt warm and cosy from the moment I walked in. A wonderful experience, and somewhere I’d recommend for comfort, convenience, and good service.

The room was small and basic, but fine for the price, and breakfast was reasonable. The location was fantastic, close to Paddington station, Hyde Park, and lots of places to eat and drink.

The location made getting around easy. I walked to Paddington, Olympia and Soho, and Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park were about five minutes away. The room itself was really small and right next to the breakfast area, so I was woken early. Breakfast was basic, but at £6 I’d have it again.

The stairs were the biggest concern for us. We were put on the fourth floor after being asked if that was okay because the lift only reaches the third, and the staircase was so narrow and steep that we worried about falling, or getting out in an emergency. The room was small but manageable; the bathroom was so cramped the door wouldn’t shut, and sitting on the toilet meant resting our arms on the tiny sink. It was stuffy even in October, with one thick comforter and no other bedding to choose from. We booked for one night because it was close to Paddington Station, but the price wasn’t worth it. The front desk couldn’t even point out the hotel on their area map. When we asked where to get breakfast, the person just shrugged and said there were plenty of places “that way.” Staff came across as rude and uninterested, and we barely slept. The place is dated and hard to get around. I’d be wary of the other hotels along Sussex Gardens too.
