The historic building has plenty of character and is large, but it's kept in good condition. The hotel was very clean, and our room was regularly serviced. The location made getting around London easy, with two underground lines and lots of buses nearby. We had a noise problem at first because our room was next to ventilation and air conditioning equipment. Vivian from reception was incredibly helpful and arranged an immediate move to the best available room, where we were comfortable for the rest of the stay. We appreciated her support. A birthday treat waiting in the room was a lovely surprise and made my birthday trip to London even more special.

The rooms are modern and well equipped for today's traveller. The staff were fantastic, and Vivian and the restaurant manager couldn't have done more for us. There's a tube station next door, local supermarkets nearby, and the train stations are a 15-minute walk away. For me, it was 10 out of 10. Thanks for making our short stay amazing.

We booked a family room for a last-minute trip, and the price was reasonable, especially for a Friday night in London. After a show, we checked in at 22pm. Reception were attentive to me and my two young children, and the process was very smooth. The blackout curtains worked well, there was hardly any street noise, and the pillows were great. I forgot to ask where they're from! We'll definitely be back.

Barbara at the front desk turned things around for me. After I spoke with her the next morning, she arranged a move to a much better room, which made my stay much more pleasant. I'd initially been given a very small, hot room. When I asked at the desk, they told me to check back the following morning to see whether an upgrade was possible.

In room 270, the external air-conditioning units were right beside us, and we were woken constantly all night. If you can sleep through the sound of a jet engine running at full power, this might be the room for you. We couldn't. For a hotel of this quality, I'd have expected enough soundproofing to deal with the noise.
