Rhodes Hotel

The reception staff were polite, and the location near an underground station was the only real positive for me. The room was extremely small, with one window that barely opened, so it felt stuffy and uncomfortable. It was on the top floor, reached by narrow, steep stairs with no lift, which is impractical with large luggage or limited mobility and can be very unpleasant if you're claustrophobic. We asked to switch rooms when we arrived, but were told we would have to wait until the next day because the hotel was fully booked. We stayed, but were uncomfortable the whole time. For the price, it fell far short of expectations. I wouldn't return or recommend it, especially if space, comfort, and accessibility matter to you. Before booking, read how the hotel responds to negative reviews. Some replies seem overly defensive and condescending, shifting blame to the guest instead of acknowledging the concerns.

It was reasonably priced and very conveniently placed by Hyde Park and the Paddington station area. The room was small but clean, and not somewhere I'd want to spend much time.

The rooms are small, but that's London, and the location is unbeatable for the price. They also look after your bags for free, which is handy for a few days of travel. The old building is very clean and clearly cared for, and the managers deserve credit for delivering such a good experience affordably. Most of all, the staff were lovely and treated us with real warmth, like they wanted us to feel happy and looked after. Panos even carried my heavy suitcase. It feels like staying at a friend's place, and I'd happily come back.
