Royal Apartments

The apartment was so dirty that we weren’t comfortable there. When we arrived, I had to sweep the floors, which were dirty all over, and we kept our shoes on the whole time. Dust covered the floors and even my eye mask, which I’d put under my pillow. There were chips, Pringles and Aero chocolate on the floor behind a bedside table, which I moved while making a floor bed for my son. The kitchen was unclean, the sofa was awful and full of dirt, and the stairs had a very stained, filthy carpet with small steps. Our son fell down them twice. The beds felt unclean and were so uncomfortable that I hurt my back. We had our baby with us, and the travel cot they provided was unstable, with a broken bottom. It collapsed on our child when he stood in it at night. We told the host it was broken, but they replied two days later saying they’d replace it, and didn’t. They changed only the cot mattress, which was broken too. On the night before we left, they finally brought another cot, but its mattress was stained and still unsuitable. When I raised that, the host first said they didn’t provide bedding, though we had brought ours, then said they didn’t provide a mattress. But they had supplied two, one broken and one heavily stained. I’d sent photos and the host didn’t care. We had to make a bed for our baby on the floor. This was very disappointing and made us feel uncomfortable. The host took a long time to reply each time. They came after 8:30 pm to replace a mattress and demanded to come in and collect the other one while our children were asleep. When I said the place was dirty, the host dismissed my message. At checkout, I couldn’t leave the key because the host had changed the lock on the key box. They replied with a different code long after our stay had ended, so I had to post the key through the door. If we hadn’t had an important arrangement in the area, we’d have left on the first day.
