Ruby Zoe Hotel London by IHG

We live nearby, so we haven’t stayed overnight, but we often drop in for coffee. It’s such a calm, harmonious spot, especially nice to relax when it’s cold out. The music is great and well chosen, and we read the papers and books there. There’s good free WiFi as well. The staff are always pleasant to us. Csaba, Carolina, Julia and Carlos are happy to see us and serve us. This hotel is a real asset to the neighbourhood. Thank you.

We were visiting for a few days and really enjoyed the good sleep, stylish feel, convenient location for Notting Hill and beyond, and the simple food and drink options. Our first stay at Ruby Hotels was a very happy one. The room is small, as you’d expect when booking, but it has lots of thoughtful touches and feels comfortable. The design is smart, the towels are great quality, and the Marshall speaker and pleasant cosmetics were nice extras. The public areas are colorful and lively. Breakfast was high quality, and the service was wonderful.

The noise made a real difference to our stay. From our fifth-floor room, we were woken most mornings around 8:00 AM by a loud ringing or mechanical sound that carried on through the day. We reported it several times. The air conditioning also switched off at random and wouldn’t run consistently, so the room was uncomfortable at times. The rooms are extremely small, though that may be expected from a budget London hotel. The location is a strong point. It’s in a great part of Notting Hill, just a short walk from the Tube, which made getting around London easy. After we raised our concerns, the staff were accommodating and offered drink vouchers and complimentary late checkout. If you stay, I’d strongly recommend asking for a room on a floor other than the fifth. It may still suit someone seeking an affordable hotel in a great location.

Karolina, the hostess, made me feel like a birthday queen with special treatment. Everyone was genuinely welcoming and happy, and the staff went above and beyond to look after us. They’ve made me want to come back very soon. It was such a treat to have an amazing surprise birthday stay with my boyfriend. The facilities were lush, and the location was amazing.
