Spacious Lower Ground Studio in Primrose Hill

Breakfast was outstanding, with plenty of healthy options, and there’s a kitchen, a seating area with tables, and a lovely garden. We loved our stay. The studio was thoughtfully decorated, very clean, and comfortable, with nice attention to detail. It was quiet at night, so we slept well. The location is lovely, just a few minutes’ walk from the underground station. We’ll definitely recommend it to friends and family.

We’d definitely come back. The shared area for breakfast and relaxing is a nice touch, and the staff were always polite and helpful. We really enjoyed our long weekend as a couple in London. The Out & Above studio we stayed in was ideal, cozy, comfortable, and clean. The location around Primrose Hill and Regent’s Park is fantastic.

Primrose Hill is a great spot, with buses, tubes, parks, and the canal right nearby. The building is nice and the studios look neat, but they’re quite compact. I’d say they’re best for one person on a longer stay, or a couple for just a couple of nights. The studios are only partly equipped, with some dishes and a few pans but no cutlery. Cleaning also wasn’t thorough. Surfaces looked clean, but I found a dirty pan in the cupboard, and there was sticky grime by the light and fan switches on the range hood. The communal areas are nicely set up, but staff seemed to hang around there gossiping. One day, the breakfast plates and bowls sat dirty in a pile in the communal kitchen sink until after 4 pm, even though there’s a dishwasher right beside it. Breakfast was pleasant and generally well presented, but the same every day: granola, berries, yoghurt, bread, and jams, with no variety. It worked for our trip, and it’s a great place to stay, but I’m not quite sure what it is, a boutique hotel, serviced studios, or more like an Airbnb. If you’re after more of a hotel service, this probably isn’t the place.

This was a lovely little place to stay. Mason and Fifth feels more like a high-quality hostel than a traditional hotel. You can keep some food in the room fridge and cook in the small kitchen corner, or use the community kitchen downstairs, which is also great for socializing. The staff were lovely and took care of everything we asked for. The location is wonderful, right by Primrose Hill and not too far from busy Camden Town. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who likes a place with some individuality and authenticity.
