Spark by Hilton London Romford

Romford station is right outside the hotel, and the Elizabeth line gets you to central London in under half an hour. There's a huge shopping centre five minutes away on foot, with a cinema, big Sainsbury's and all kinds of shops. The area is lively, with everything you need around the hotel. The rooms are among the most adorable I've stayed in, and the luggage space under the bed is a great touch. So cosy, you just want to stay put. No hotel beats Hilton's bedding, you sleep like you're on a cloud ☁️❤️ 10/10 stay!

I've stayed at Romford Sparks six times for work. It's right by the tube, which is handy, but five of my six stays have had dirty rooms. This time I switched rooms three times. In two of them, there was hair under the covers, and it was obvious the bedding hadn't been changed. All three rooms had dirt on the floor. The third had a window and was very noisy, so I got no sleep. There were bugs running around on the floor too.

The first-floor cafe is lovely, relaxing and has good service. The rest of the hotel was a different story on my last visit, Valentine's night, 15 Feb 2026. The room was tiny, like a sardine can, with some sort of white substance on the wall and dirt on the floor. It wasn't a pleasant stay. While I waited in the lobby for the rain to stop, a staff member gave me a truly disgusting look. I've been three times now, so I feel I know the place fairly well. The cafe is a must, but there are better options for everything else.

I won't return or recommend this hotel to anyone who expects basic respect as a paying customer. I used to like Hilton Spark Romford and regularly came to study and work, sometimes spending the whole day with a friend. We always bought food and drinks and weren't abusing the space. I was even thinking about booking a night there, but the way we were treated ended that. One day, two women at reception approached me and my boyfriend in a confrontational way and said we'd stayed too long, even though we'd already bought snacks. They asked him how long we planned to stay. When we said about an hour, they insisted we had to buy more drinks. To avoid an argument, we bought a coffee and a Pepsi, but that still wasn't enough. Then they said it had to be cocktails. I've never had such aggressive, pressuring treatment in a hotel lobby. It completely spoiled what had been a positive experience. The way they spoke to us was unprofessional, embarrassing and frankly disgusting.
