St Christopher's Inn London Bridge - The Oasis

I visited the hotel around 7 PM on 20th February 2026 and was really disappointed by the reception. The three people on duty seemed more interested in their phones and private conversations than helping guests. They barely acknowledged people standing in front of them and showed little urgency or willingness to assist. Reception staff are the first impression of a hotel, and courtesy, professional communication and attentiveness matter in that role. I saw none of those during my visit. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses training and accountability, since reception service has a big effect on a guest's experience. 😔😔😔

Ella saved my day after midnight. The night staff were so kind and helpful, and she was incredibly welcoming. Best reception and best hostel in London. I’ll be back after 3 months. Thank you for everything, highly recommended.

I was legally entitled to stay in that room until 01/04, but on 31/03, the day I was checking out, I went in and found my things gone, including my personal belongings from the locker. Staff in the lobby handed everything back in garbage bags, saying the room had been booked earlier by a school group or something. Nobody had told me I needed to change rooms. What really upset me was how indifferent the staff were. When I called the manager, he doubted that I hadn't been told about the room change, even though I was never told. Everything had been going well until then. Never let people touch your belongings without consent. Don't go there.

The rooms were fairly clean and the location was good, but I'd avoid staying here. Street noise from the bar downstairs kept us up until 2am on a Tuesday, with thin walls and windows doing little to block it. They charged £3 to leave luggage. That meant carrying it downstairs, then hauling it back up through the bar and several narrow flights of stairs to the rooms. I heard the receptionist say you have to pay after checkout because you're no longer checked in with the hostel, but we were charged when we arrived before 3pm too. It felt like they were trying to get money from us at every opportunity. There were also only two toilets per floor, one with a broken seat, for around 12 rooms with between 2 and 8 people each.
