Our newly renovated room was great, and the hotel is still renovating its dated hallways. The breakfast is basic, beans, eggs, and sausage, but it’s cooked fresh when you arrive by friendly staff. Taking the location, welcoming team, rooms, and breakfast together, it’s hard to find better value for a budget London visit.

After the hotel said the bedbug problem had been sorted, a family member found a bedbug on their pillow on our second night. We changed hotels at 1 in the morning, with our three kids walking through London in their pajamas after a full day exploring. It was by far the worst part of our trip. We’d already had to switch rooms after the first night because the shower in our original room had mold and a leak. This was my first time in London, and I’d been so excited, but the hotel creeped me out from the start. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Management never replied or followed up about my concerns, which was the most troubling part. I have allergies and asked to change rooms, informing both the front desk and management by email, but got no response. When I entered the room, the door was open and there were keys and a box of cigarettes inside. The room also didn’t match the photos I’d been shown. It wasn’t renovated as advertised, and its condition fell short of expectations. The mattress was uncomfortable, with springs and wires easy to feel through it. Although the property is marketed as renovated, the room suggested otherwise, especially compared with other hotels on the same street. I can’t recommend staying here because of the poor service and lack of response.

The hotel is in a really good location, and I had a very good five-day stay with my boyfriend. The staff were helpful and the room was very clean.
