Stay Qm (Adults Only)

The mattress felt old, and I could feel all the springs poking me while I slept. I was booked for six nights with classmates on a school trip, but left after just one night because it was one of the worst nights of my life. A few other classmates did the same. The location is close to the underground, around 500 metres away, but I didn’t feel the area was very safe, especially with some homeless people nearby. I do not recommend it.

This is a university residence with good single rooms and a shared kitchen. My room was clean, and there’s a nice view over the river running through campus. It’s handy for Mile end underground station and worked well as a place to sleep while on holiday. The shower head is fixed, though, so getting properly wet takes some contortions.

There’s a decent breakfast included, with both full English and continental options, and round-the-clock security is reassuring. The price is pretty similar to Airbnb. This setup suits solo or low-maintenance travellers. The dorm rooms are fairly clean, though they can get a bit stuffy on warm days. My room had its own bathroom, and there’s a shared kitchen if you bring your own cookware. It’s near two underground stations, bike docking points, lots of supermarkets, and a nice park with a long barge.

The rooms were pretty clean, the staff were friendly, and the food at the curve was fine. Breakfast was okay too, and I’d stay here again. It’s a beautiful place by the regents canal, about a five-minute walk from Mile end station. I stayed in beaumont court, where the only downside was having no lift, so I had to carry all my luggage up three floors.
