There was a bit of an adjustment when the management company changed, and the new team is still finding its feet. They’re friendly, though, and both the service and apartment furnishings have clearly improved. Abdul, the previous on-site manager, did a great job. I think Cube Ealing will keep getting better. Keep it up.

I’ve lived at the Cube for almost three years, and these problems only began after the new management came in with staff changes and cost-cutting. It used to be a lively place where people wanted to live. Abdul arranged social gatherings, outings, movie nights, and cultural and religious celebrations. Since the new manager took over, there’s been nothing much happening, and the place feels dead. The group chat is full of unhappy students. Please stop pressuring students to leave positive reviews as soon as they arrive. I’ve included the correspondence from Home for Students as evidence, so the facts are clear. My biggest concern is the removal of security. Under the previous management, there was night security, and we could contact Abdul directly at any time. I don’t understand why student accommodation has no security. After the recent break-in, parcels were stolen over the Easter holidays while no staff were on site for four days. An email said security would be provided, but that lasted only a few days. Now it’s back to part-time staff, with no night security and no staff on weekends. I’m worried something similar could happen again. Students were told to claim from the retailers for parcels delivered to the Cube, with management taking no responsibility. Many of us, me included, now have parcels sent to nearby pickup points. That’s ridiculous. As a response to the robbery, students are also being told to carry rubbish across the building to reach the rubbish area, again with management taking no responsibility. There have also been ongoing heating, hot water, and false fire alarm problems. Some students are afraid to cook in their rooms in case they set off an alarm, especially in studios where the windows don’t open and ventilation is poor. With many studio rooms like that, it’s a real concern. I’m paying over £350 to live here, and Home for Students has managed the building since mid-December 2025, over four months, but still can’t organise a party or do something for the students. The response to my concerns showed no accountability and was wrapped in corporate jargon. It ignored my main question: why was the security provided under the previous management removed and replaced by student wardens? How is this a safe environment after a major break-in? There was also an incident where keys were left out in the open all weekend. Those are two major security breaches, yet there’s still no security, only part-time staff, and no one on site on weekends or public holidays. Student wardens are left to run the place. Is getting rid of security staff and using student wardens just a way for Home for Students to save money? I also disagree with the explanation for the fire alarm problems. The issue wasn’t incomplete information. There was no staff on site to deal with the false alarms, so the fire brigade came several times to turn them off and check everything was all right. Home for Students was contacted several times but didn’t come because it was the weekend. Abdul, the previous manager, was well liked because he and an engineer dealt with the heating and hot water after several students asked for help. They got it working so students could have hot showers and heat during the freezing January weather. Then on Monday morning Home for Students took no responsibility. Does that sound familiar? With all these changes and problems, I can’t recommend the Cube.

The Cube was a lovely place for my friends and me to live. The building was well looked after, and Abdul was consistently friendly and helpful. He also put on events and outings and gave away prizes to keep things fun and make sure residents had a good time.

We’ve only just moved in, but the receptionist has already been so kind. He was quick to help us with the little problems that come with settling into an unfamiliar place, and we really appreciate it.
