Student Only View Studios Bermondsey

I was unsure about booking View Studios because of some mixed reviews, but I’m glad I went ahead. The room was clean and roomy, with a study area and a fully equipped kitchen that made it feel like home. Staff were around whenever I had a question and did their best to help. The welcome was warm from the moment I arrived, and the other residents were lovely too. They showed me around the area and invited me to spend time with them, which made the stay feel personal and comfortable. I had a great experience and would recommend View Studios.

Bermondsey was probably the only area of London I’ve lived in over three years that I actually liked, since it’s close to pretty much everything. The accommodation itself, though, I wouldn’t recommend. I’ve been here since September, and no London accommodation is perfect, but I’ve managed to make the best of it at Host View Studios. The staff are nice, but they seem to come and go whenever they want. For three days I couldn’t collect my parcel, whether I tried before 9 a.m. or after 4 p.m. They apparently close around 7, but I went before 6 and found a “be right back” sign that stayed up until the morning. Once I’d forgotten my room key and needed a spare, but the desk was closed before 7, with no phone number or contact details to call. I’ve also given up asking them to fix my leaking toilet after mentioning it at reception about five times, each time to a different manager or supervisor. Ventilation is practically nonexistent. The windows only open a little, which is about all you can rely on when it’s hot in London. And the rent is £475 a week.

Everything in the building runs like clockwork, and the staff have made my time here so easy. Venessa and Tiah really listen and know how to make you feel better. Best staff ever!

I paid for a Silver Studio for the academic year, but when I arrived, other people were already in my room. The temporary room I was given was dirty, poorly cleaned, and missing even the basics. Reception wouldn’t sort it out right away and told me to wait until Monday for the manager. That’s unacceptable in student accommodation and a serious breach of contract. I took photos.
