I liked staying in this traditional London inn, with the pub downstairs and the rooms above. The included breakfast had a filling spread, and enough options for me to find food without meat or sugar despite being a picky eater. I don’t eat meat, but I was impressed by how many sliced meats and kinds of bread there were. There’s no kitchen for guests, but the pub serves fish and chips and other dishes until about 9 pm. I’d stay here again.
We were there in early November and had a clean apartment on the second floor. There’s no lift, but that was manageable. The carpet was the one issue: it needs a thorough clean, or better yet, replacing. The apartments are in a great, quiet area, about a half-hour walk from Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and other sights.
The staircase was filthy, and although the apartment itself was okay, the photos make it look better than it is. I also had a frustrating check-out morning: check-out was clearly at 11, yet someone tried to get into the room at 10:40 and again at 10:50 while we were getting dressed and ready. We left at 10:58, so there was no need to come in early. Before our stay, I got five or six automated emails pressing me to give an exact arrival time so someone could meet us in person. I needed flexibility and couldn’t know my arrival time until the day. When someone from the company messaged me abruptly on WhatsApp, the exchange felt impersonal and quite rude. I asked about self check-in, and they sent instructions for a lockbox, which had apparently been available all along. I don’t understand why they hassled me about a precise arrival time first. I wouldn’t recommend this apartment or company.
We stayed in two different apartments and liked them both. They were very clean, beautifully decorated and in a great location. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!
The apartment is beautiful. The carpet could use a clean, and I’d suggest asking for extra towels.
