Sutherland Apartments

The noise made it impossible to rest. There was no soundproofing, so we could hear neighbours talking, slamming doors, walking around, sneezing and worse. Every day, cleaners and loud conversations in the halls and other rooms woke us up, and people gathered downstairs to sing and talk loudly. The room was nothing like the photos online. Instead of a bright, clean apartment, we found a dirty, dusty place where everything was old and some things were broken. The floor hadn't been cleaned properly, there was mold in the bathroom, and the balcony we had deliberately paid extra for was dirty and covered with cigarette butts and rubbish. The blinds were so broken that we could be seen from outside no matter how we closed them. The mattress was small, old and sagging at the edges so badly that you could fall off. It was excruciating to sleep on. Staff were extremely slow and reluctant to respond to our complaints, and it seemed the only fix would be to rebuild the hotel from scratch. We lost a whole week of vacation, a lot of money and had a ton of stress because staying there was simply impossible.

The host was responsive and helpful, and the place was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Getting to transport and nearby spots was easy from this London apartment. I loved my stay and would definitely come back.

The location was spot on, and the place was clean and cozy. Check-in went smoothly, the kitchenette was a nice bonus, and the WiFi worked perfectly. I'd happily stay again.

I reserved an apartment with a balcony three months ahead, but when I got there, someone else was still in the one I'd booked. They said that person was supposed to have left, but they couldn't get hold of him. Instead, they offered me a much smaller room with no balcony. The shower was dirty, the fridge leaked and the kettle was rusty and filthy.
