Swish Apartments Camden

The hot water tap in the kitchen is genuinely dangerous. I'm surprised nobody's had an accident. It was also stuffy and hot, with no AC, and the windows barely open, if they open at all. The outside isn't pretty, though I suppose that doesn't matter much. Inside, the place was clean and had great facilities, including a nice bathroom. The host communicated well and was very understanding. It's well located and would suit a couple for a night or two in London, especially if you're going out in Camden. For the price, I've stayed in better places elsewhere in London, though.

Never again. It wasn't worth the money. The location was excellent, and the flat was tidy with a pleasant shower, but summer heat made it horrible to stay in. There's no AC, and the tiny fan was broken, so it felt like being trapped in a hot greenhouse. They were kind enough to let us move our stay after we had to cancel the trip before, and we could check in an hour early. After that, though, communication was poor, with emails and questions rarely answered. The toiletries were sparse, and the kitchen was bare, with little crockery or cutlery and presumably a working oven but nothing to put in it. Getting luggage up the tiny, winding staircase was a nightmare.

Getting in was easy and felt secure, with a key code for both the main entrance and the studio. I slept really well. The place was lovely, with superb facilities finished to a high standard. I also had a fabulous breakfast at Layla's, just a short walk from Mornington Crescent. I'll definitely come back.

I booked through Expedia for a business trip to London, but on departure day, while I was at the airport in Stockholm, I told the Swish Apt manager, Elise, when I expected to arrive. Just as I was boarding, she realized the room had been double booked through other booking sites. That caused a major inconvenience and was very poor customer service. Elise promised a free room on my next visit to London to make up for it. I've since returned and emailed well in advance to take up the offer, but despite following up several times, I haven't had a response. Be aware that Swish Apartments seems disorganized, and your booking may be cancelled at the last minute.
