The rooms have TVs, air conditioning and decent bathrooms, and they looked like they’d been refurbished fairly recently. They were clean and tidy, though poorly repaired damage to the tiles, walls and floors takes away from their otherwise smart appearance. Still, for the location and price, it’s a very decent hotel, with friendly staff. It’s a nice, family-run place.

Modi and Asim made the stay feel personal and well looked after, and their service was the part that stood out most. Modi gave me a warm welcome, made check-in smooth, explained everything clearly and was always easy to approach when I had questions. Asim was professional, calm and quick to help, whether I had a small request or needed him to check that things were okay with my room. I had a genuinely positive stay at 29 London Hotel and would consider coming back based on the service alone.

If all you need is a budget hotel near Victoria and Pimlico, the location is ideal. There’s not much else going for it. The fittings are coming off the walls, the sockets are damaged, the phone doesn’t work, and the curtains won’t close, so roadside rooms have no privacy. It looks like there’s been no investment for years, and I doubt there will be, since people will keep booking for the location.

A nice little budget hotel in a good part of town. The room was small but clean, and the staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast is available, standard but good.

We paid extra for the small buffet breakfast the next morning, and it was good value. For London, the place felt reasonably priced. We spent one night here for a show, and the room was cleaner and the beds more comfortable than I’d expected. We were on the third floor, though, and there were a lot of stairs to get up there. The location was perfect for Victoria. I’m not sure I’d stay longer than two nights.
