The Buxton

The staff were outstanding throughout, and the included breakfast went well beyond what we expected. There was juice and coffee, very good pastries, fresh breads, cheeses, meats, and an addictive parfait with Greek yogurt, granola, and apple chunks. Rooms are small, as expected, but have nice touches like upgraded towels, nice bedding, Nespresso-style espresso and coffee makers, and great shower heads with strong water pressure. The lobby pub is good for beer, wine, or cider, and there’s an outdoor patio with white lights. Great experience and excellent service.

The staff were kind, professional, and simply lovely people. Breakfast was fresh and beautiful, a proper continental spread, and the cocktails I had the night before were stunning. The rooms are bijou but well looked after. On my own, it was perfect; if I’d had my partner with me, I’d have checked whether a larger room was available. The shower pressure was epic. I’ve stayed above pubs before and had some less-than-great experiences, but this one rewrote the script. Excellent stay, and I reckon I’ll be back.

We only popped into the pub for a drink, but had a fantastic time. The atmosphere was great, there was a huge selection of drinks, and the service was both friendly and very competent. Everything was clean, especially the restrooms.

Being able to walk to the City and Soho was a real highlight, and the metro and buses were easy to reach too. We felt looked after from the minute we arrived, thanks to the kind, welcoming staff. The hotel had a lovely atmosphere and design, and everything felt just right. Our room was warm and cozy, breakfast was great, and the coffee was good. Being able to leave our luggage there made things easier as well. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return.
