The location is fantastic, and it was the cheapest option in the area. The woman who welcomed us was friendly and helpful. I found the traffic noise manageable given where the hotel is, though the window that wouldn't shut properly made it louder and might bother a lighter sleeper. They were fitting new hallway carpets while we checked in, so I hope the owners have more refurbishments planned. Our bed was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom and towels were clean too, and the shower had good temperature and water pressure. The room itself was tidy enough, but there was rubbish from a previous guest left in a drawer. The room was small and basic, with very tired decor. The window and bathroom door both failed to close fully. Several fittings were broken or close to it: the headboard fell off the wall more than once, the bathroom shelf tipped forward, and the loose tap was hard to turn. The hot and cold taps were mislabeled as well. The bathroom may have had some recent work, judging by the new grout, but excess grout hadn't been cleaned off the tiles very well. The price and location made it worthwhile despite those problems.
Mary serves a satisfying continental breakfast in the morning. The staff are fantastic and welcoming, especially Sharóne 👋🏽, who made the stay feel personal. The location is great, with several public transport options within walking distance.
We spent two nights in a room with three single beds, and for the price it was okay, though it could have been better. The location is great, with plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. The room and bathroom were small, the internet kept cutting out and wasn't good for remote work, and the room felt cheaply built. The staff seemed disorganized.
Now called 'The London Hotel'. We stayed last night with two friends, and the place met our expectations for the price. The room had a double bed, a single, a basic bathroom and a mini fridge. I think the rooms had been decorated recently, which added to the experience. The location is amazing, and the gentleman checking us in was very friendly. He helped us with maps and advice on which buses to take. Staff were all very friendly, and we'd use it again for the location and price. Breakfast was good, with a great cheesy omelette, though a wider choice would be nice.
The only reason I'd give this two stars is the friendly staff at reception and breakfast. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend staying here: the rooms are extremely small, black mold was growing above the shower, and the toilets clogged most times they were used. The free WiFi was nearly unusable, and the wall outlets seemed to work only about half the time. I'd consider this hotel a last resort. There are many better options at the same price.
