The staff were really friendly, and the location is great, but there are much nicer places within a two minute walk. We stopped in at 7pm on Saturday for drinks and a snack. The bass music was thumping so loudly it was hard to talk, and a couple of tiny gnats were flying around our table. We ordered croquettes and whipped feta dip from the bar snacks. The dip was so unpleasant we left 80% of it, and the croquettes were maybe a 5/10. Honestly, I’m not sure who this place is meant to attract.

At Clerk & Well, our Saturday lunch was delicious. The service was attentive and friendly, and the salmon was cooked and presented just right. Someone in our group asked for tabasco, and a staff member even went out to buy some. Highly recommend, and I’m looking forward to going back.

We’d heard that their sister pub the one tun does amazing Thai food, so we came in with high hopes. The Christmas lunch lived up to them: the turkey was moist, beautifully done and absolutely delicious. I think we’ll have to come back for lunch with the team in the new year.

The room was very nice and the staff were super friendly, and the food was good too. I took off a star because what I got didn’t match the Expedia listing. It advertised a King Bed and a separate bathtub and shower, but the bed was a smaller queen size and the shower was inside the bath, not separate at all. Why advertise it that way? It just set the wrong expectations for an otherwise nice place.

The pub was completely empty and felt soulless, though the decor was certainly interesting. I came to watch the Grand National after seeing it advertised on the website. We asked them to turn up the race volume and got a dismissive “we don’t do volume.” Then another customer asked and the volume suddenly came on. I wouldn’t recommend spending your time or money here. One star is generous.
