The roast potatoes were crisp and golden outside, soft in the middle, and lovely with the peas and fresh vegetables. The vegan Sunday Roast was so satisfying, with a flaky pastry shell packed with well-seasoned roasted vegetables and beetroot. The smooth gravy brought everything together. Such a colourful, balanced plate, and absolutely delicious. Definitely worth a try even if you’re not vegan. 🌱✨💚

We found the room rate very reasonable, and the restaurant was a real highlight, with a talented chef and excellent food. Although there’s a bar, the dining area is set well away from it and stays quiet. Our room was spacious, nicely appointed, and spotlessly clean. The staff at The Crown were friendly and helpful, and the service was great. I’d happily visit again.

The food was exquisite, and the room and bathroom were so warm and cosy I didn’t want to leave. The windows are single glazed, but that didn’t stop the room from feeling comfortable. This is an amazing hotel if you have high standards. I’m planning to make it a regular choice on future business trips to Kent.

Had a good chat with the really nice manager, and the pub garden is handy for families since you can keep an eye on the common. The location is lovely, with the common across the way and the cock pit nearby. A takeaway pint on the green sounds good. The Guinness was okay. It’s a Shepherd Neame brewery owned place, with classic gordy tiles, a brass-topped bar, dark blue everywhere, and mass-printed art on every wall. A bit basic and overdone in that country chain pub style. I’ll be back in summer for sure!

We came back to the place where we got married for a lovely one-night stay after all the New Year chaos. Our beautiful room looked out over the common, and we settled into the cosy window seat for a few drinks before a great three-course dinner. We had one small issue with the room, which was dealt with above expectation. Excellent service and a beautiful location. We’d stay again. Thank you to The Crown managers and staff. Lisa & Ian.
