They focus on pizzas, served Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, and Saturday lunchtime. The barman was friendly and efficient, and there’s a good beer selection. It’s clearly a favourite with locals. The building must have been a pub forever, though it looks like it was gutted and refurbished in recent years to give it a modern interior.

A really unusual wine list, with South African whites among the highlights, plus fresh beer and great food. I especially liked the cheese plate with cashews and pistachios. The new post-COVID owners are two very friendly, well-travelled South Africans. A wonderful addition to the neighbourhood.

We were lucky to find a table at The Cuckoo for our first outing after lockdown. The new South African landlords were lovely, and they have a South African themed menu I’m looking forward to trying sometime. Can’t wait to see you all again :D

We felt right at home as soon as we arrived at this fantastic little pub. The service was friendly, and there’s a good selection of larger and ale. Their small menu of fresh pizza's was delicious, with veggie options too. We stayed in a double room that was spotless and spacious, with a lovely comfy bed. Couldn’t ask for more. I’d highly recommend it and would definitely stay again.
