The Gloucester Place Retreat - NBSS

We were pleasantly surprised by Apartment 3 after worrying about the mixed reviews. Our stay was amazing, with nothing to complain about. Once the door lock malfunctioned, but I called and it was fixed in under a minute. I’d be happy to stay there again anytime.

For one night, we managed, but the sleeping setup wasn’t what we expected: we booked a studio with two singles, and got one single with a trundle bed underneath. The toilet kept running, the cooker light was far too bright, and the entry security code was tricky. It was actually okay otherwise, but they need to be more honest about the setup. We wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

The tiny bathroom made it hard to move, and the interior was drab and badly maintained. The mattress was uncomfortable, with springs you could feel and yellow stains. For a three-day stay, they provided just one toilet roll. Check-in was confusing, with no clear communication, and the water was lukewarm. The shower barely worked because the showerhead was disgustingly scaled. This was the worst accommodation I’ve stayed in. I’m surprised it has good ratings and strongly advise against booking.

The central location was the only good thing. The apartment was much smaller than the photos suggested, dirty, and had some broken interior. It only had enough space for two people, and the mattress springs felt like they were practically impaling you. Thin walls and doors let us hear drunk guests stumbling upstairs and making unbearable noise for hours. They were loud and inconsiderate even after someone spoke to them.
