The Greenwich Hideaway - Glamorous 4bdr House With Garden

I liked staying near Greenwich Market and Cutty Sark, with plenty of good walks in the area. The hotel is well placed in Greenwich, though when the London DLR wasn’t running, the area was cut off from easy train travel. When it was operating, getting around London was easy. The studio had a handy microwave and kitchen setup, but it’s small and would feel cramped if you weren’t travelling alone.

This was my first time staying in an aparthotel, and it was a really nice experience. Staff were extremely polite, and check-in and checkout were seamless. The room was well equipped and kept in good condition, though some cupboard doors didn’t close properly. The kitchen was an okay size, but could’ve been a little better. I’d definitely stay here again.

Bugs in the fridge topped off two nights in a room that felt like a sauna. I paid 430 Great British Pounds, got a 30% refund, and won’t stay here again. The room was extremely hot, and we couldn’t open its window, supposedly for health and safety reasons. I’ve stayed at this exact hotel before and the window opened then. The listing mentioned air conditioning, but the unit only showed a lock button. Reception explained staff had to control it, and taking the key out of the wall when we left switched it off and locked it again. The room never cooled down after they said they’d reset the air conditioning. A kind staff member apologized and offered another room, but it had one double bed instead of our two separate beds, so we turned it down and asked for a fan. One fan didn’t help, so we requested a second. They just blew hot air at us, but I suppose that was better than nothing. Other guests told us they’d been in our room and had asked to move because it was too hot, so staff knew it was an issue but still gave it to us. We had to prop the door open to let in cooler air from the hallway. I recognized the room I’d stayed in before, and it had its window open. Other rooms had open windows too. We asked again to switch, but were told the hotel was fully booked that night. If we’d accepted the offered room the night before, someone else would have been in the hot room on our second night. The front desk person was kind and understanding, and helped make a difficult situation less bad, even though I felt bad having to keep complaining.

Everything was considered in the room, which was very clean and had all the utilities we needed, including a toaster, dishwasher, and capsule coffee. The convenient setup and great service make me want to come back on my next trip.
