The Hyde Hotel

The room was dirty, the mattress was filthy, and we saw several bugs. In the shower there was a strange brown circle on the floor that seemed unhealthy. There's also a tube open into our room. We don't know what's on the other side, but suspect bugs may be getting in through it. We don't feel safe or comfortable here. I've never seen a hotel this dirty. Don't waste your money if you have another choice. We're staying at the Hyde hotel from April 17th to 20th. We booked because its Booking.com rating was somewhere between 8 and 9. I can't remember the exact number, but it was high. Since then we've seen that the last 10 or 20 reviews have rated it badly for the same things we're experiencing, and the current score is around 4.4. The hotel doesn't deserve the rating it had when we booked.

The room was small, dirty and had bedbugs, so we left without staying and went to a nicer hotel. We lost all our money. I asked if they'd charge me for just one night and let me check out, but they kept the full payment for all three nights even though we didn't stay at all.

This was a room in a shared house, not a hotel, and it was filthy and unhygienic. I woke in the middle of the night with bedbug bites and asked for a refund, but they refused. The staff member was rude and arrogant, flat out telling me the place had no bedbugs and that I'd brought one in myself. Sleeping on a park bench would be cleaner, and at least there wouldn't be bedbugs. Absolute zero stars if I could. Avoid booking at all costs.
